Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced a series of allocations to support sustainability and environmental initiatives in Sarawak. A total of RM1.5 million will be allocated to the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) to document traditional knowledge with Indigenous communities, promoting inclusivity and equitable benefit-sharing. Additionally, RM3.3 million will be allocated to initiate the construction of the Sarawak Bio-Industrial Park (SBP), a 26-acre facility aimed at fostering a circular economy and enhancing environmental resilience. The Forest Landscape Restoration Programme will receive RM4.1 million, while RM2.8 million has been earmarked for next year to gazette one million hectares of land as Totally Protected Areas.
