The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) is taking steps to harmonize sustainability reporting requirements for companies. Their focus includes corporate climate transition plans and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions measurement across the value chain. As part of their two-year work plan, the ISSB will assume responsibility for the Transition Task Force disclosure framework and collaborate with the GHG Protocol. The ISSB aims to simplify sustainability reporting by consolidating various initiatives. They previously released general sustainability and climate reporting standards. Additionally, the ISSB’s recent decisions prioritize connectivity between sustainability and financial disclosure standards, supporting climate transition disclosures.
